Challenges

GE Healthcare acquired this workstation technology and wanted it redesigned to:

• Fit the look and feel of other GE products
• Improve user ergonomics
• Reduce production costs

Solution

MPE designed three scaleable versions of the workstation: a small cabinet to fit under a countertop; a compact model with more workspace and room for peripherals; and a larger version for multiple users. The workstations are built from a basic set of fabricated parts common to all three models. This modular approach, along with MPE manufacturing efficiencies, helped to drive down production costs significantly. The finished pieces reflect GE’s branded look and feel, and give the user improved ergonomics and equipment access.
